SUPER WRITERS
I’m really excited to introduce this new series written by a group of guest authors from Gram English School. These guest authors are my students and I’m bringing the cream of the crop to My Several Worlds to showcase their creativity and talent.
The students featured as Super Writers are between ten and fifteen years of age. They have participated in a demanding writing process to arrive at the finished product you see here. Each story represents several weeks worth of work including: brainstorming, pre-writing, drafting, editing, revising and publishing.
Our students learn a variety of different writing styles. They also learn the skills of editing and proofreading, which help with their understanding of proper grammar usage and sentence structure. Our Super Writers program has enjoyed quite a bit of success since its introduction to our curriculum several years ago. The Super Writers program aims to take the mystery out of writing and breaks the writing process down into the five manageable steps mentioned above.
Short Process Writing Lessons are included in every lesson. To begin, these lessons focus on brainstorming and beginning the writing process. In time, students develop better writing skills. My goal is to make writing a natural process for students.
Over the past two years, I’ve noticed a huge improvement in my students’ writing ability. I’ve decided to introduce some of my best young authors to the rest of the world to make the publishing process seem a bit more real to them. Each writing example will be linked to an About the Author page. These pages include a short introduction by me, but are written by the students.
I hope you enjoy these stories by young Taiwanese authors as much as I do.
